“After hard hitting statements from Asif Ali Zardari and the rest of the PPP leadership, the federal government has asked the Sindh Rangers to slow down the process,” official sources said. This was disclosed on the condition of anonymity to The Express Tribune.
“The Sindh Rangers have been told that if they find any evidence or information leading to the arrest of any political personality, it should take the provincial government into confidence before taking any action,” the sources said.
The sources said Sindh Rangers have declined to entertain the federal government’s request after finding evidence against political personalities
“The Sindh Rangers have taken the plea that any relaxation at this stage will badly damage the on-going operation as happened in the past. The noose around corrupt elements, financers of terrorists, hit-men, extortionists, their abettors and the people involved in corruption, should continue to be tightened,” the sources said.
However, sources said the Sindh Rangers have shared before going after prominent personalities it informs the Apex Committee, and will now take the provincial government into confidence.
