Aerospace science: Three-day conference begins

Thirty national and international scientists will share research accomplishments.

ISLAMABAD: The fourth international conference on aerospace science and engineering commenced at the Institute of Space Technology (IST)’s main campus on Wednesday, said a press release.

The institute’s vice-chancellor, Imran Rahman, chaired the plenary session that was addressed by national and international experts.

Dr Shaukat Hameed Khan, coordinator general COMSTECH, Dr Syed Ismail Shah, chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, and Syed Muhammad Asif Rumi, CEO National ICT R&D Fund addressed the first plenary session followed by technical sessions.

The conference will conclude on Friday.

Thirty national and international scientists will share their research accomplishments with the academicians, researchers and students from all over Pakistan.

They will present over a 100 papers and 30 poster presentations in 20 technical sessions, 15 panel discussions and workshops during the three-day conference covering different themes and track related with aerospace science and engineering, including aerospace and avionics, satellite design development and security, mechanical engineering for aerospace applications, aerospace materials design and engineering, satellite communication and image processing, global navigation satellite systems, remote sensing and geographic information science, astronomy and astrophysics, information technology and cyber security, space technology awareness and society.

The conference is a biennial event in which scientists, engineers, researchers, professionals and students from all over the world interact and discuss the latest themes and trends in aerospace science and engineering.

They share experiences, foster collaborations across industry and academia, and evaluate emerging aerospace technologies and developments.
