Besides, lady health workers distributed 5,466 pamphlets about preventive measures against dengue during the door-to-door campaign. The health teams also visited 148 tyre shops, solid waste dumps, restaurants, hotels, parks and educated the community about importance of sanitation, cleanliness and preventive measures against the disease. Durrani said the main focus of the campaign was on public health education. The sanitary staff of union councils has been directed to ensure timely cleanliness and proper solid waste disposal in rural areas, he added.
