The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will collaborate to strengthen the payment monitoring mechanism, BISP Chairperson Marvi Memon said on Saturday.
The BISP chairperson made the remarks during a meeting at the Arfa Software Technology Park. Memon said the initiative would be taken by employing geo-tagging and smart technology. She said the BISP had been adopting e-governance systems to monitor programme field activities at the highest echelons of management nationwide. Memon said stakeholders had identified major areas of concern and discussed their solutions. She said feedback had also been solicited from BISP beneficiaries to redress their grievances.
Explaining the salient points of the monitoring mechanism, he said the PITB had introduced smartphone, high-tech biometric system and PC tablets to monitor service delivery across public health facilities and educational institutions province-wide. He said the Citizen Feedback Monitoring Programme (CFMP) had proved very effective in obtaining feedback from citizens frequenting public offices. Saif said this included information on reducing corruption, misconduct and bribery in offices of public departments.
BISP Secretary Salim Ranjha, Punjab DG Sara Saeed and other officials from the two organisations were also present on the occasion.
