PESHAWAR:

The counter-terrorism department (CTD) has arrested a target killer in Peshawar.

According to a handout issued by the department on Wednesday, Ismail Khan, a resident of Ghanta Ghar, was arrested for killing a policeman in Gulbahar during Ramazan.

“Ismail had shot dead Janat Gul, a constable from the rider squad at Gulbahar police station, near Eshrat Cinema Road on July 10,” read the statement.

“Gul was on routine patrol when the incident took place. Police had registered an FIR and were investigating the matter.”

The handout added Ismail was taken into custody and interrogated.

“He informed the police about Muhammad Ishaq, his accomplice who was also involved in criminal activities,” stated the document. “Ishaq, who hailed from Swat and was residing in Peshawar, was later arrested.
