Anwar, Sarfraz to be awarded Rs500,000 for outstanding performances in Sri Lanka

KARACHI: PIA and Naya Nazimabad Management is holding a dinner reception for Anwar Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed for their recent outstanding performances for Pakistan.      

Director Sports Naya Nazimabad Management, Muhammad Iqbal announced on Thursday that a cash award of Rs.500,000 will be given to both the cricketers for their excellent performances for the country in Sri Lanka series at Lawai Stadium, Naya Nazimabad on August 8.

Anwar Ali produced a match winning innings in the second Twenty20 international to lead Pakistan to thrilling one-wicket over Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Sarfraz Ahmed not only played well throughout the series in Sri Lanka but had also displayed his skill against South Africa and Ireland in the ICC World Cup.

Former legends of Pakistan cricket such as Wasim Bari, Wasim Akram, Moin Khan, and former test cricketers Iqbal Qasim, Ijaz Faqih and ICC President Zaheer Abbas will also be gracing the reception.

Chairman PIA, Nasser N. Jaffar and chairman Arif Habib Group, Arif Habib will present the cash awards to the players.

A night exhibition match will also be held on the occasion at Lawai Stadium.

In other good news, PIA recently promoted Anwar Ali to officer grade after his match winning performance against Sri Lanka.

MJ | 9 years ago | Reply It is good to see hardworking cricketers being recognized and rewarded. Please make Sarfaraz the keeper for T20 team as well. In his current form he will a valuable asset to 20 overs format as well.
