Judgment day: Girls outperform boys in Bannu intermediate exam results

BANNU: Girls have once again outdone boys in the FA/FSc results announced by the Bannu Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

All three top positions were clinched by girls. Faiza Sharif of Girls Inter College Bannu secured 999 marks out of 1,100 and stood first. She was followed by Maheen Shahab from the same college who got 997 marks and third came Girls Higher Secondary School Kotka Dilawar Khan’s Madeeha Saeed who obtained 985 marks.

The overall passing percentages of the first and second years stood at 66.83% and 77.16%, respectively. According to the BISE, Government Degree College No2 secured 16 positions, including three in the pre-engineering group.

Bannu BISE Controller Examinations Haider Zaman Wazir told The Express Tribune 3,466 students in first year medical group appeared for the exam out of which 2,628 passed. Similarly, in the pre-engineering group, 2,051 students took the exam and 1,530 passed.

In the general science group, 315 students appeared for the exams out of which 192 passed.

Meanwhile in the arts group, 6,668 students took the exam out of which 4,004 cleared the papers. In the second year, 14,526 students from both science and arts groups appeared and 11,208 managed to pass the examinations.
