City police DSP Tauheed Khan Gandapur told journalists nine-year-old Anfal was playing cricket at his place when the ball went into his neighbour’s house.
“When the boy went to his neighbour’s house to collected the ball, 27-year-old Asif locked him in a room and demanded Rs100,000 from Anfal’s parents for his release,” the official added.
However, when his parents did not pay the amount, Asif set his dog on Anfal. Although the boy was not injured, his father, Qazi Munir, registered an FIR with City police station.
Further investigation into the incident is under way.
