DI KHAN:

At least six members of a family were arrested on Sunday for allegedly forcing a 14-year-old girl to marry a 40-year-old man under swara in DI Khan.

According to a police official, Allah Ditta Baloch, a resident of Muhammad Khan, told the police his son Ameerullah was abducted.

The kidnappers threatened him, saying his son would be killed if he did not marry his 14-year-old daughter, Shehnaz Bibi, off to 40-year-old Abdullah.

Baloch was forced to give in to the kidnapper’s wishes to save his son’s life.

“Shehnaz was married off to Abdullah by an imam,” the official said. “Ameerullah was released by the kidnappers.”

Police conducted an investigation and arrested Abdullah along with five of his relatives who were involved in the incident. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is under way.
