Pakistan Navy saved themselves from defeat after a late goal from Muhammad Basharat earned them a 1-1 draw against National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL).

Nine-man NBP put up a courageous display as Abdul Aziz scored the opening goal of the match in the 18th minute at the People’s Sports Complex, which was equalised by Basharat in the 73rd minute.

Army now sit second with 52 points while NBP’s ranking remains unchanged at 12th place with 29 points.

Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) earned a walkover against Afghan FC by default at the Benazir Sports Complex in Karachi.

The Chaman outfit failed to reach the venue two hours before kick-off time as per rules of the tournament after which the PPL officials awarded the walkover to PIA.
