PESHAWAR: Frontier Region Bannu’s political authorities have installed 30 drinking water hand pumps in Wazir Ahmadzai area. The pumps will provide drinking water to over 1,500 people living in Datta Khel area, said a press release issued by the Directorate of Information FATA Secretariat here on Monday.

The project was initiated to ease difficulties faced by the Wazir Ahmadzai tribal people, especially women, who had to fetch drinking water for domestic use from the far-flung areas on a daily basis. The hand pumps have been installed near a cluster of houses to ensure access to maximum families. Local skilled and unskilled labour was employed to install the hand pumps, which has resulted in a quick and high quality work.

The local community has appreciated the political administration for provision of basic needs. The political administration expressed hope that the inhabitants of these areas will cooperate in implementing such development activities which will bring prosperity to the tribal areas.
