LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Lower Mall SHO on a petition by a woman seeking a case against her husband for allegedly driving her out of their home for not bearing a male child. Petitioner Nasreen Bibi said that she had had three daughters with her husband Zulifqar Ahmed. Recently, his family had started complaining about them not having a male child, she said. Ahmed had first started picking arguments over petty issues and had then thrown her out of his house, Nasreen Bibi said. She said that she had visited the police to file a complaint but the SHO had refused to register a case against her husband.
