Islamabad High Court judge Aamir Farooq on Saturday distributed certificates among participants of a training course for district judges at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA).
District and session judges from across Pakistan attended the week-long course titled “Appreciation of Evidence and Management of Criminal Trial before Magistrates”.
“Whether it is a civil or criminal case, judges are ordained to administer justice in accordance with the facts and the law. We have to rely mainly on an adjudication of the facts in accordance with the law,” said Farooq.
“Judgment writing is a very important subject. English is not our native language but we can develop our skills of judgment writing through various ways. None can deny the importance of a clear and cogent judgment. All of you should focus on writing good judgments,” he said.
FJA Director General Fakhar Hayat gave an overview of the training course.
Five newly-inducted district and session judges from Balochistan and 22 civil judges and judicial magistrates from all over Pakistan and AJK attended the course.
