Asks govt to take serious note of Indian aggression

ISLAMABAD: During the budget debate in the lower house of parliament on Friday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that “India wants to derail the economic development” of Pakistan, urging the government to take serious note of New Delhi’s aggression against the country.

“Indian prime minister has confessed his role in the division of Pakistan and mocked the country at a time when China is ready to invest in Pakistan to help the country meet its economic challenges,” he said.



Kashmir boundary is a recognised disputed territory and it needs to be resolved according to the United Nations resolution, the JUI-F leader said.

He proposed the ruling government to give incentives to 48,000 Kashmiris migrated to Pakistan and leading their life in tents.

Fazl appreciated the government move to evolve consensus on the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, saying we should continue to take measures for the success of this project.

He also called upon the government for resettlement of North Waziristan IDPs, saying if the situation has normalised they should be sent back to their homes as it would be their third June in camps where they face harsh weather.

Surprisingly, the ruling party’s MNA Shahabuddin Khan said the government did not give relief to the people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata),

He urged the government to make Fata a separate province or merge it in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Pakistan got Rs112 billion under Kerry Lugar Bill for Fata but it did not spend on the people of the mountainous region.

While taking part in the budget debate, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said there were some basic flaws in the budget.
