SUKKUR: Displeased by the lack of sanitation and absence of staff at Civil Hospital, Khairpur, provincial health secretary Dr Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo issued warnings to the hospital’s medical superintendent and assistant medical superintendent. The health secretary paid a surprise visit to Civil Hospital, Khairpur, on Sunday and found it nearly deserted. Due to their weekly holiday, neither medical superintendent Dr Ghulam Jaffer Soomro nor other relevant officials were present at the hospital. On hearing about the visit, however, they rushed to the hospital and briefed the secretary about the available facilities. Visiting various parts of the hospital, Dr Mangnejo expressed his displeasure about the lack of sanitation and the thin attendance of staff. He not only issued warnings to Dr Soomro and the assistant medical superintendent, but also asked them to take action against ghost employees.
