LAHORE: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday dismissed a petition requesting the court to order re-examination to fill 696 posts of civil judges. The judge did not remove the objection to the petition. He told the petitioner it was an administrative matter and he should file a representation before the chief justice to seek relief. Advocate Farhad Ali Shah, a member of the Punjab Bar Council, had filed the petition pointing out ‘discrepancies’ in the result of the examination held to fill the seats announced on Wednesday. He said a number of successful candidates had been listed as unsuccessful in the result available on LHC’s website. He said the candidates were worried as the result was unclear giving an impression that some candidates had been unlawfully favoured.  The petitioner had requested the court to order an inquiry into the matter and order the examination afresh.
