PTI's Ali Amin Gandapur handed over to police on one-day remand

Gandapur was wanted for stealing ballot boxes during the recently-held LG polls

DI KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been handed over to the police for a one-day remand.

DI Khan police officials had laid siege to his residence, the Gandapur Cottage, in the Hethala area of Kulachi town of DI Khan earlier on Monday. The siege lasted three hours, but Gandapur still managed to escape through the back door of his house.

However, he surrendered himself to the police later at night.

According to police, vote count was under way in the Hemath Adda polling station on Sunday when Gandapur, his brother Umar (a candidate for tehsil nazim) and his armed supporters arrived on the scene, picked up the ballot boxes and took off with them in the minister’s car.

righto | 9 years ago | Reply For all the hyper-ptians.... he only got arrested cos PTI finally anticipated the major embarrasment..and as for police surrounding- well once the party leadership is giving green signal to avoid major damage to image, police has no problem in proceeding.. plz lets not have these lame #watachange commentary also IK's offer for relection-well theres not time in this world to conduct elections again and again- PTI prove even it couldnt handle the exercise- there is no such thing as 100% perfection and the pretend-perfectionist-PTI just got exposed!

Btw there seems to be a cute love hate relationship between you and Imran Khan.

I belong from dikhan city and the character of Ali is not hidden from anyone. If anyone has doubts, please do some research and get back with results. How dare a sitting Minister snatch ballot boxes? And not only this city, many other places same sort of incidents occured. Pti is now loosing their grip and their false claims are no more acceptable. I belong to no party buy obviously not Pti whose slogan was A Change. Hats off to this change. Had imran been wise enough, he would have sorted out black sheep from his party but he doesn't get time from being a Prime Minister dream. And Pti is no diffetent than Pmln. Ali brother for district nazim seat, CM son in law is an mpa and so more. But time is close when pti will have to face a shaneless defeat from kpk. Just wait and see.

Today when this crack peddler is herded around in handcuffs, the same dimwits would pump up their chests and loudly sing laurels in favor of the good governance of KPK government. Running from Police through back doors is a rare quality that can only be found in PTI. A few years back during Musharraf's rule, Niazi jumped off the walls of Zaman Park House leaving behind his sisters at the mercy of Lahore Police and Pervaiz Elahi.
