Lovers’ quarrel?: Air force official shot dead

Alleged shooter was an unidentified woman.

ISLAMABAD: An air force official was allegedly shot dead by a woman on Thursday evening in the jurisdiction of Margalla police station, said a police official.

The deceased was identified as PAF Airman Bilal Safdar, 27. The incident took place under a bridge near Sector G-9, where the woman shot him with a 30-bore pistol before fleeing the scene, said a police official.

They had gone to the area together on the deceased’s motorcycle said the investigation officer of the case.

The police shifted the body to Pims for autopsy. The police also recovered the motorcycle and the woman’s shoes from the site. The suspect, however, remains unidentified. Police sources said that the two were in a relationship which had ended a few years back, adding they suspected one of them had attempted to rekindle it. The sources said that the killing appeared to be premeditated.

Margalla SHO Muhammad Bashir said it was premature to say that the pair was in a relationship. “The investigation is under way. Things would be clearer after the killer is arrested,” he added.

Body found

A 17-year-old boy was found dead in the Industrial Area, said a police official.

The deceased, identified as Bilal Raja, was an A’ levels student and lived in Sector I-9/4. The police said that the deceased was killed by six of his ‘friends’.

Industrial Area SHO Asjad Mehmood said six friends of the deceased were sitting outside the street of deceased around midnight, and later killed Raja.

The officer said that family had left for Lahore for his funeral and further investigation is underway.
