Nash, 86, and his wife Alicia were both killed after their taxi crashed in New Jersey, said reports.
The mathematician is renowned for his work in game theory, and also won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994.
Nash’s discoveries in maths - and his struggles with schizophrenia - were the main focus of the film.
