Waste wars: Chinese, K-E to manage refuse

KARACHI: Delegations of a Chinese company and K-Electric have met with the managing director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), Roshan Ali Shaikh, on Wednesday. The spokesperson of the SSWMB said the Chinese solid waste management experts, Li Jiw Hong and Jiao Zhixing, showed interest in developing scientific mechanisms to lift garbage from doors, manage garbage transfer stations and develop infrastructure to recycle the waste. “Same thing was discussed with the delegation of K-Electric,” he said, adding that after the consultation with the solid waste management experts, the SSWMB may sign agreements with the companies in the upcoming days.
