Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan concurred on Saturday that Houthi rebels didn’t have any right to overthrow a legitimate government in Yemen.
The Turkish leader telephoned the Pakistani premier Saturday night to discuss the worsening situation in the Middle East, especially the armed conflict in the Arabian Peninsula. In the telephone conversation that lasted 45 minutes, the two leaders agreed that they step up efforts to resolve the crisis through peaceful means.
They also affirmed that any violation of the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia would evoke a strong reaction from both the countries. Premier Nawaz is in touch with leaders of important Muslim countries in his efforts to defuse the situation and salvage peace.
