According to a press release the song is ‘a soulful tribute to Baba Bulleh Shah and Amir Khan’s PK. The band which has so far released four albums Main Hoon Tanha, Kabhi, Mausam and Beyond Kismat started the latest tour from February 22, 2015.
The band has returned to the fore with a song which connects them with their soulful roots. Rup Magon spoke about the song saying that, “We have a terrible habit of questioning everything and anything around us, from education to religion to the rules in which relationships are governed.”
For their latest song, ‘Ardaas’ the band uses just the guitar, flute and the piano hoping to send out a simple yet powerful message which is in synch with the growing spirituality of the world.
“We wanted to keep the instrumentation very simple, yet deliver a powerful punch with the vocals,” says Qurram Hussain of JoSH.
Apart from being a part-India and part-Pakistani band the group is also known for their collaborations with international artistes like Nelly Furtado, Apache Indian and Sukhbir. So far JoSH has sold over 3 million albums worldwide and has also won many accolades. Apart from that the band also holds the distinction of being the only artistes to win MTV Music Awards in both India and Pakistan.
