PFUJ initiative: Sindh governor promises help for media moot

Says will try to resolve issues of housing and insurance schemes for journalists

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has agreed to become the patron in chief of the planned international media moot in the city.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ), headed by PFUJ Secretary General Mohammad Amin Yusuf at the Governor House.

Yusuf informed the governor that PFUJ was planning an international media conference, which would be unique not only in Pakistan but in this region. Foreign and national delegates will participate in the conference, he said.

The governor, while consenting to become patron-in-chief of the media moot, promised to extend all possible help for the success of the conference.

Dr Ishratul Ebad further said that the government attaches high importance to journalist community and pays due attention to their problems.

The governor said that he would try to resolve the issues relating to housing and health insurance scheme for journalists as promised by the Sindh government.

He commended the services of journalists, photographers, cameramen and other media workers.

Other members of the delegation included KUJ President G M Jamali, General Secretary Wajid Raza Isfahani, CEC members Syed Hassan Abbas, Mushtaq Sarki, Nadra Mushtaq, senior journalists Sajid Aziz and Gharida Farooqi.
