Investigation: 49 rounded up from the city

A total of 48 of the 65 held in Model Town were released after initial investigation.

As many as 125 people were held for a security check in Model Town and Allama Iqbal Town divisions on Monday. Of these, 76 were released after scrutiny of their identity documents and the remaining were moved to an unidentified location for further investigation.


A total of 48 of the 65 held in Model Town were released after initial investigation. The remaining 17 were moved to an unidentified location for further inquiry.

In Allama Iqbal Town division, 28 people were released after initial investigation and the remaining 32 were moved to an unidentified location for further inquiry.

The city police also conducted raids and arrested 30 people under the Punjab the Information of Temporary Residents Ordinance of 2015.

Security remained on high alert throughout the day on Monday.
