Injured personnel airlifted to hospital in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: At least 11 security officials were injured on Thursday when militants attacked a security forces convoy with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Khyber Agency's Tirah Valley.

According to political administration officials, a vehicle within a convoy of security came under attack at Nangrosa area of Tirah Valley.

The vehicle was damaged while 11 officials on board were seriously injured. The critically injured personnel were airlifted to a hospital in Peshawar.

The attack comes a day after massive aerial strikes were carried out against militants in Tirah Valley, claiming lives of 35 suspected militants and destroying several of their compounds.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that eleven security personnel were injured.

Rex Minor | 9 years ago | Reply @Javad Kazmi: Zarb e azb is nothing more than areal bombardment and long range artillery firing being undertaken for ethnic cleansing in the tribal region. All those reported killed are counted by the army as militants; while the retaliation comes into the garrison towns and polulated cities which are then termed as terrorist attacks. Javad Kazmi | 9 years ago | Reply We the citizens demand media access to to Op Zarb e Azb. Too many lives have been lost and the government and establishment cannot anymore hide from the people of Pakistan their success/failure in this operation.
