Khurram Manzoor selected for New Zealand tour

KARACHI: Khurram Manzoor was selected as the fifteenth member of the Test squad for the New Zealand tour, starting later this month on Friday.

The 24-year-old hit a brilliant century for Pakistan 'A' on their recent tour of the West Indies.

"We have included Manzoor as the 15th member of the Test squad after his good showings in the series against the West Indies," chief selector Mohsin Khan said.

Manzoor, who made his debut against Sri Lanka in Karachi last year, has so far played seven Tests, scoring 326 with three fifties.

The Karachi-born batsman was unlucky to be overlooked despite scoring a brilliant 77 in his last Test, against Australia at Hobart in January.

Pakistan will play three Twenty20 games, two Tests and six one-day internationals on their tour of New Zealand. A separate Twenty20 squad was also announced earlier this week, while the one-day squad will be announced later.
