Minor girl sexually assaulted by 65-year-old man in Akora Khattak

Police official says hospital reports show that the girl was not raped, but molested

NOWSHERA: An eight-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a 65-year-old resident of Akora Khattak a few days ago in the limits of the Akora Khattak police station.

Halima, a resident of Akora Khattak, told the police that her eight-year-old daughter Maheen* was playing outside her house, when a man, identified as Muhammad Arshid, took her to his guest house, where he allegedly raped her.

The mother of the victim added that she found out about the incident when her daughter returned home and told her about it.

Akora Khattak police official Hidayatullah said that they raided the house of the accused and arrested him, adding that Arshid confessed to the crime while he was in police custody, turning back from his words in a local court. The police official further said that the court has sent the accused to jail.

Hidayatullah mentioned that hospital reports showed that the girl was not raped, but was molested. An investigation for the case is under way.

What has actually transpired to this little girl, I just don't have words to describe my feelings. She is lucky one that her story came in view.
