Weather changes: Light snowfall in Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat

QUETTA: Balochistan capital Quetta along with Ziarat, Kalat and nearby mountainous areas received light snowfall on Tuesday, brining the temperature below freezing point in uplands of the province. The weather turned cold and windy in Quetta valley after the snowfall. The met office recorded minus four degree Celsius in Ziarat, Kalat and Khanmetharzai; however, the temperature in Quetta did not go into minus. “The temperature would drop to minus degree Celsius in Quetta valley while minus six to seven in Ziarat and Kalat in the next 12 hours,” Mukhtar Ahmed, director Meteorological Department based Quetta, told The Express Tribune. However, he said there would not be heavy shower, but light rains and snowfall in parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Kalat, Pishin, Ziarat and Qila Abdullah. Weather was warmer two days ago in Quetta with 15 to 20 degree Celsius. However, after the daylong windy weather, Quetta and adjoining districts received light snow and rainfall.
