PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police has arrested an important commander of Lashkar-e-Islam (LeI) from Peshawar. CTD personnel captured the militant, identified only as Momin, a resident of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, from a house in Kababian locality on Warsak Road. Although Khyber Agency is not in the jurisdiction of Peshawar police, the suspect, carrying a bounty of Rs0.5 million, was wanted in a 2009 terrorism case registered at the city’s Pahari Pura police station. CTD said Momin was an important member of Mangal Bagh-led LeI and his brother Anar Gul was also an LeI commander.
