PESHAWAR:

To ensure militants are not living in hostels under the guise of students, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government is planning to prepare a policy for private hostels under which a record of all residents will be given to the  district police. Sources said according to the new policy, private hostel owners will provide all records of students.

At the same time, the construction of a new hostel will require a no-objection certificate. The government is also apprehensive of private hostels in residential areas and plans to convert some of them into flats.

Sources added various outlaws and criminals were arrested during different police raids from private hostels.

They said the government was informed by the
police that terrorists lived in these private hostels as students.
