DI KHAN: A lawyer was killed and another injured when unidentified gunmen fired at them in Tank city on Monday. Officials of Tank city police said the attack took place near the Durand Line Gate in Purana Mall Mandi. Abdur Rehman and Yusaf Jan Burki were on their way to the district courts in a car when assailants on motorcycles ambushed them. Rehman died on the spot while Burki was injured. Both victims were lawyers of the district court in Tank. Abdur Rehman was former president of the Tank Bar Association while Yusaf Jan Burki is a lawyer associated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. Burki was taken to District Headquarters Hospital, Tank and later referred to Islamabad due to the nature of his injuries. Police said an investigation is under way.
