Head-on: Two killed in accident

The police report stated Sajjad died on the spot, while Ali and Haroon were rushed to the hospital by Rescue staff.

MARDAN: Two people were killed and another injured when a motorcycle was hit by a truck in Khawaja Ganj Bazaar, Mardan on Sunday. Ali, a resident of Marchako Kalay, was injured in the incident. The man told the police he was on his motorcycle with Sajjad, a resident of Bari Cham, and Haroon from Marchako Kalay when a head-on collision took place. The police report stated Sajjad died on the spot, while Ali and Haroon were rushed to the hospital by Rescue 1122 staff. The police report added Haroon succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital and Ali’s condition is stable. The driver of the truck abandoned his vehicle and managed to escape immediately after the accident. Police impounded the vehicle and registered an FIR against the accused driver. Raids were under way for his arrest.
