Dubai meeting: Dar in talks for $550m IMF tranche
The head of the IMF review mission and Dar will hold a joint press conference after conclusion of the talks
ISLAMABAD:
Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday arrived in Dubai to lead Pakistan’s team in talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the release of the next tranche of $550 million. A team of officials from the Ministry of Finance, Water and Power and Petroleum was already there for necessary preparation and undertaking preliminaries, said a statement released by the finance ministry. Initial talks at the technical level had already been held, while policy-level talks began on Monday, which would continue for the next three days. The head of the IMF review mission, Jaffrey Frank and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will hold a joint press conference after conclusion of the talks.
