More than 300 worshippers were inside the double-storey compound of the building when the bomb went off on the ground floor, according to witnesses. At least two police constables were suspended soon after the incident.
The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen staged sit-ins in various parts of Karachi including Numaish Chowrangi and Malir 5.
As the locals observe a day of mourning across the city, the shops and educational institutions remained closed.
Funeral prayers of the victims of the Shikarpur tragedy were also offered at Lakhvi Chowk.
The cities affected by the strike include Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Kashmore and Nosheroferoz.
