Corruption charges: Termination orders for judge set aside

Our Correspondent January 17, 2015

LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court on Friday set aside the termination notification of a civil judge and ordered his restoration. The bench, headed by Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa, set aside the administration committee’s order and restored Muhammad Enayat Gondal as civil judge. Representing Gondal, Advocate Mian Tariq Hussain said that his client had not been heard before he was terminated, thus the decision against him was biased. Gondal had been terminated on May 12, 2012, over allegations of corruption. A litigant had complained that Gondal had received a bribe from his opponent while he was a civil judge in Toba Tek Singh.
