LAHORE: President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Shah Faisal Afridi has urged the government to focus on the manufacturing sector in a bid to provide jobs to the country’s youth. He said Pakistan’s economy was facing several issues among which unemployment was the most alarming. He also emphasised on expanding the ambit of tax payers rather than increasing the burden, adding that there were 400,000 industrial electricity connections in Pakistan but only 46,800 were paying taxes. He also called for broader participation of the business community in the budget-making process.
