Enrolment Issues: BISP, education dept sign agreement

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Education Department and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) have signed an `Implementation Agreement’ to promote enrolment of out-of-school children in schools. The purpose of the agreement is to forge a partnership between Divisional/Tehsil offices of BISP and the education department for promotion of primary education of children of BISP beneficiaries in Rawalpindi. According to the arrangements, the education department will facilitate admission of children of BISP eligible families in government-managed primary schools and improve supply capacity of targeted schools in the concerned tehsils of Rawalpindi Division. Similarly, BISP will be responsible for payment of Rs200 per child per month after confirmation of admission and attendance.
