Combined income group: SPI falls week-on-week

The SPI for the group stood at 202.58 points against 203.10 in the previous week

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 8, 2015 registered a decrease of 1.24% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 202.58 points against 203.10 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group decreased 0.35% from 211.28 points in the previous week to 210.53 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group dropped 0.53%. During the week, average prices of 15 items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 9 items rose and rates of remaining 29 recorded no change.
