ABBOTTABAD:

The district administration of Abbottabad has sealed two restaurants and imposed fines on over a dozen other eateries for allegedly violating hygiene rules.

According to insiders in the health department, Abbottabad Assistant Commissioner Mir Raza paid surprise visits to various restaurants in the city on Friday and inspected their kitchens. Most of the restaurants were not complying with hygiene and cleanliness standards. A large number of restaurants were using substandard oil and spices. The quality of beef and mutton being served to customers was not at par with standards set by food authorities.
