Imran Khan’s PTI and government have pointed fingers at each other for failing to reach an agreement on the mechanism for investigating alleged rigging in May 2013 general elections.
But, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah suggested on Wednesday that if a delegation comprising members of other political parties is included in the talks, it would be possible to ascertain facts surrounding the deadlock.
Shah offered to nominate representatives from the PPP for such a committee.
Responding to a question he said, “PPP would not table any resolution in the National Assembly to demand de-seating PTI members from the House over their continuous non-participation.
PTI lawmakers had submitted their resignations with the National Assembly speaker in August last year, however the speaker has yet to take a decision on these resignations.
Imran has now linked a return to assembly halls with establishment of the judicial commission.
The deadlock on certain points of the terms of reference had resulted in the breakdown of talks following the latest round of talks between PTI and the ruling PML-N in December.
On Tuesday, Imran had threatened that his party would be forced to return to the streets in a repeat of its street campaign between August and December 2014, if the government fails to form the judicial commission by January 18.
On December 17, 2014, the PTI chief had called off his four month long sit-in in front of the Parliament and a nation-wide strike call in the wake of the terrorist attack in Peshawar which left over a hundred students and teachers dead.
To a question about reported marriage of PTI chief Imran Khan, Shah said he would not comment on it since it is the PTI’s head personal matter.

Thanks. But no...Thanks!
@Adnan Siddiqi:
I am sorry to say but you have completely lost your marbles. What kind of an idiotic statement is that? Typical darbari.
The guy went at great lengths to hide his marriage but could not show even an iota of gut to stand up and join the fight against the Taliban. Pity on those trolls and cult worshipers who thought of him as PM material
If PTI has a problem they should go to the Supreme court WITH TANGIBLE PROOFs and not STORIES. They have learnt nothing and want to take the country hostage doi.g what they do i.e. talibans bidding. One of the four constituencies was crying foul has been won by Ayaz Sadiq fair and square.
@Adnan Siddiqi: troll it is irrelevent, dont spew venom in hatred,
Oh man still? Actions of PTI seem more like that of a 4 year petulant child who wants what he wants and when he wants it and requires to be pacified constantly.
Why bother Shah Ji! PTI is already immersed in and overwhelmed by Mehndi/Mayoon celebrations of their Chairman-For-Life upcoming grand wedding. These negotiations are and were a smokescreen and the nation saw the biggest and the most expensive pre-marriage celebrations of all time between 14th August and 16th December, 2014.
After the 21st Amendment is passed by the National Assembly and the Senate and the bill is signed by the President, let's not talk about mediation between PML-N and PTI, as PTI abstain from voting which means PTI is a pro-Taliban party.
Negotiations will be talked about but will not happen till after the Senate elections, after which PMLN will be fully ensconed and will control the Senate. Result of negotiations, dharnas etc after that will have no effect on pmln power hold.
