The report, which was dated November 12, revealed that the special branch had received information from a reliable source, who had claimed that some extremists working for the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and other “jihadist” organisations have conceived a plan to free their accomplices who were arrested by the CID police.
It is likely that the extremists will try to free their accomplices while the latter are being taken to court, which is why all police offices, convoys and vehicles are in danger of being attacked, it was also stated in the report, in which the DIG police (special branch) appealed for additional security measures around the city to foil any attempted attacks.
