A lawyer and his bodyguard were shot dead by unidentified men in an attack near New Hyderabad City Town on Thursday.
Police said advocate Ahsan Arain, 45, and Sahib Khan, 50, were on their way from Tando Jam to Matiari in a car when they were intercepted by the assailants. Their attack was so swift that the guard did not have enough time to respond. Arain sustained two gunshots while Khan had four. Both men died on the spot.
The Sindhi High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) and Hyderabad District Bar Association condemned the attack. The SHCBA’s president advocate Nisar Durrani said that they would boycott all court activities on January 2 in protest.
