Centenary: PAL to mark Hali’s death anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) will hold a session to mark the 100th death anniversary of Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali at 3pm on Wednesday. Urdu professor Muhammad Fateh Muhammad Malik will preside over the event while Allama Iqbal Open University Vice-Chancellor Dr Shahid Siddiqui would be the chief guest. PAL Chairman Sheraz Latif, Muhammad Izharul Haq, Dr Ahsan Akbar, Muhammad Hameed Shahid and Dr Najeeba Arif will also speak about Hali. Hamza Hassan Sheikh would present the English translation of Hali’s poetry while Haider Farooq would present it in `Tahtul Lafz’. While Athar Zia would sing Hali’s poetry with music.
