K-P Games : 6 win gold medals in different events

Chief guest, Secretary K-P Olympic Association, gave away medals and trophies to the position holders.

PESHAWAR: Iqra of Hazara surprised many with her impressive performance during the ongoing Women Karate event in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Games being played at Lala Rafique Sports Arena on Wednesday.

Iqra played against Amina of Peshawar and Nosheen of Nowshera in the individual karate demonstration. She surprised many on this occasion with her talent. Her rival Amina also gave a good performance along with Nosheen. Amina got a silver medal while Nosheen got the bronze medal.

In the men tournament, Moinuddin of Peshawar got the gold medal, followed by Muhammad Riaz from Bannu and Umar from Hazara, who took silver and bronze medals.

Peshawar recorded 56 points in the male segment and won the overall trophy, followed by Bannu who recieved 46 points and Kohat who received 35 points and also the third position.
In weight-lifting tournament, Amna of Peshawar received first position, followed by Huniza of Hazara and Salma
of Mardan.

In the 55 kilogramme (kg) weight category, Iqra from Hazara received the gold medal, followed by Nadia from Peshawar and Romi of Mardan, who received silver and bronze medals. In 60 kg weight category, Madiha of Hazara won the gold medal, followed by Mohsina of Mardan and Asman of Peshawar.

In the plus 60 kg weight category, Nigara of Peshawar won the gold medal, followed by Kanwal of Mardan.Meanwhile, in the 50 kg, male segment, Murad of Peshawar, Tariq Hussain of Kohat and Awais Khan of Mardan got the gold, silver and bronze medals.

In the 55 kg weight category, Ismail of Peshawar, Arsalan of Hazara and Anwar Khan of Bannu took the lead.

At the concluding ceremony, chief guest Zulfiqar Butt, Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association, gave away medals and trophies to the position holders.
