In his meeting with Sirajul Haq, who is also Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House here, PTI Vice President Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that his party has shown positive gesture by calling off its marathon dharna and now it was the government’s responsibility to resolve all pending contentious issues, including the formation of the commission accordingly.
“It was a routine matter to brief each other about the current situation,” Qureshi told The Express Tribune. Earlier talking to the media after the meeting, Qureshi said the PTI showed responsibility by calling off the sit-in, adding that he was optimistic that the government and PTI would reach a consensus over the establishment of the judicial commission and other matters in the next session of talks.
Sirajul Haq commended PTI’s decision of wrapping up the sit-in in the wake of the Peshawar tragedy, stating that the “now it’s the government responsibility”. He hoped 2015 would be a peaceful, while Qureshi urged the government to employ all available resources to counter terrorism.
