LAHORE:

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday instructed Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take all necessary measures to ensure foolproof security in the province and to provide full protection to foreign investors.

Shahbaz briefed the premier on the security arrangements in Punjab’s jails where convicted terrorists are being executed. “The executions will continue in the coming week and law-enforcers would remain deployed outside the prisons along with police,” a senior PML-N leader told The Express Tribune while requesting not to be named.

“The prime minister and the chief minister discussed the overall law and order situation in the country. Premier Nawaz said protection of the citizens and maintaining peace is the top priority of the government,” the PML-N leader said, adding that the prime minister said agreements with China were important for the economic progress of the country and all foreign investors, including Chinese should be given full protection and security.

Quoting the premier, the PML-N leader said, “He said awareness should be created among the people to keep an eye around them. If they see any suspicious activity or person they should inform the police.”

Separately, the Punjab chief minister also held a meeting with different parliamentarians on Sunday. He said the attack on innocent children in the Peshawar school was the worst incident of terrorism and the whole nation was grieved.

The chief minister maintained that the terrorists who “attacked the future of the country deserve exemplary punishment”.

The blood of those who have sacrificed their lives for the country would not be squandered and the nefarious designs of the enemies of peace would be thwarted with the force of unity, he said.

Shahbaz went on to say that terrorists would be rooted out from the country forever, adding that the Pakistan Army, police and citizens have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the whole nation is proud of its army and security institutions.

Separately, Vice Minister International Department of the central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chen Fengxiang met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday. Matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and strengthening of mutual contacts between PML-N and CPC were discussed in the meeting.

The chief minister maintained that China was reliable and trustworthy friend of Pakistan and has stood by it in every hour of need.

Why is it that investors security is being discussed by mian brothers only? Does this mean Hussain Nawaz and Shabaz son have decided to invest?
