KARACHI: The murder of over 140 innocent people, mostly children, at Army Public School is as heart-breaking as it is ghastly, said a statement by the American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten received on Wednesday. It is unspeakably horrifying that a faction of the Taliban would go to such extremes because they apparently have grievances against the military and hate the idea of giving children an education that will open up a world of opportunities to them, the statement said. “We stand with all who condemn this egregious act and mourn the senseless loss of life,” Weingarten said.
