SIALKOT/ KARACHI:
To mourn the death of their party worker, Bao Muhammad Anwar, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) organised a soyem and Quran Khwani in units and sector offices all over the country on Thursday.
In Karachi, a congregation was held at the Lal Qila ground where men and women offered prayers for workers who had gone missing. Anwar, who was the MQM’s vice-president in Sialkot, was shot on Tuesday.
A delegation of the party’s leaders and workers attended his soyem in Shahabpura. MNAs Sajjad Ahmad, Asif Hasnain, Abdul Waseem, MPA Abdul Haseeb Khan and former members of the newly dissolved Rabita committee were also there. They were hopeful the police will find the culprit soon.
