Violence In The City: ‘Gang member’ killed in Lyari

Kalakot police officials said the deceased was a member of Lyari’s Baba Ladla group

KARACHI: A suspected gang member, 28-year-old Umair Buksh, was killed in the Gul Muhammad Lane area of Lyari on Wednesday. Kalakot police officials said the deceased was a member of Lyari’s Baba Ladla group. They added that he had been shot and killed by unidentified armed men belonging to the rival Uzair Baloch group. His body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for autopsy and was later handed over to his family. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, a suspected robber was killed and his accomplice arrested after an exchange of fire with the police in Anwar Baloch Goth in Malir City. The slain suspect was later identified as Shahab Shaikh, while the arrested suspect was identified as Farhan.
