Following PTI chairman Imran Khan’s call for a countrywide shutdown, including shutter down strikes in Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi, the government had decided to resume talks with the party.
The prime minister had tasked Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and some other “soft-spoken” party leaders, including Ahsan Iqbal, to revive the dialogue process.
However, despite the emergence of a window for reconciliation, Imran went ahead with his shutdown in Faisalabad on December 8.
PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry earlier told The Express Tribune, “When they [government] feel the heat, only then will they give in.”

Nope, No carte blanche for IK, and his co-anachists like SR. While govt should seriously consider taking a high road, and accommodating PTI, however, IK should be made to realize that he cannot eat the cake and have it! Start negotiations afresh (forget about starting where they were left -- 'cuz no agreement had been signed); IK must agree to start with clean slate, and stop prowling for dead bodies -- excluding his own sons and daughter, of course!

1- 99.99% fool proof electoral system (what if rigging proved N govt was behind it, should we again rely on failed electoral system for reelection). 2- Recounting of votes N verification process. If it’s proved that it is rigged N substantial evidences r there that PM Sharif was behind, reelection should happen. Isn't it amazing that it's now the PTI calling for unconditional negotiations after refusing to budge for so long! Nawaz Sharif should be the bigger man here and help PTI out of this morass so the country can move forward. Except I am not sure NS is not too petty for that.

Two can be beneficiary of rigging, one ruling party and another anti democratic and anti state group. When I cast vote no one checked me am I dropping only one paper or 100, because cabin was covered,, so what if Anarchist deliberately casted fake votes for reason later can depose ruling party and derail democracy in Pakistan… So rigging should be investigated but who is behind is most important….because state is not childs play…!!
